Alan Stillman has more than 40 years of experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), with a focus on co-occurring mental health, substance abuse, forensic, and sexual offense issues.

At the 2020 Annual Conference of the Forensic Mental Health Association of California (FMHAC) in Monterey, CA, Liberty Executive Director, Alan Stillman, LCSW, reviewed the history of intellectual and developmental disorders, discussed myths and stereotypes associated with I/DD and sexual behaviors, defined healthy sexuality, examined the obstacles to community placement, and presented a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to create pathways for healthy sexual thinking and behaviors in developmentally delayed adults with sexual offending behavior.
