Liberty Celebrates Physical Therapy Month

October is National Physical Therapy Month, and our therapists in Delaware celebrated by dropping pain points, standing up to addictions, and working a major muscle, the brain!

October 9, 2019

National Physical Therapy Month is designated by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). It is a month-long event raising public awareness of the health benefits offered by physical therapy to people across the United States and around the world.

This year, the APTA’s #ChoosePT campaign raised awareness about the dangers of prescription opioids and encouraged consumers and prescribers to follow guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to choose safer alternatives like physical therapy.

The theme for our physical therapists’ mini-tradeshow was Physical Therapy: Mobility & Beyond. The goal was to emphasize the prevention of opioids addiction for pain management. They had a display of different PT equipment and PT services trivia questions for staff. The event was a big success, filled with learning and fun!
